Program Overview
Cross-Functional
Rotation Assignments
|
Cross-Functional Rotation AssignmentsThe main learning component of the MDR program is the rotation assignments which provide on-the-job learning and broad breadth of knowledge. The program is structured to allow learning and exploration, while gaining hands-on practical work experience. Selection of rotation assignments are linked to the The Nielsen Company’s business objectives/priorities and the project’s strategic importance to the business. Project selections will also depend on several other variables including: business needs, participant’s background, experience, desired career path, and project availability. The program is cross-functional in nature. Participants have the opportunity to rotate across different business units, work in small and large teams, and gain practical industry experience. |
|
Participants generally gain knowledge in the following disciplines: Research Methodology and Analysis, Sales/Sales Support, Marketing and Operations. Lengths of rotation assignments are generally 4-6 months in length which is long enough to gain familiarity with a specific area and provide participants with the opportunity to complete a project and be accountable for their work. Most participants have the opportunity to rotate 3 times before graduating from the program. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are placed in longer term positions within the Nielsen organization. These positions reflect the needs of the organization and also reflect the interests and abilities demonstrated by the participants during the program. All participants receive the opportunity to present their project findings and learnings to senior management upon completion of the program. |
